Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is a American chef television personality and an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network presenter with her distinctive long, blonde hair with a pumped up personality reveals easy to learn techniques and eliminates intimidation of restaurants dishes in her show Secrets of a Restaurant. Burrell is a chef who has been in the kitchen for a long time. Burrell is also a seasoned veteran of New York City's best restaurants. She has also explored Italy's cuisine and its culture and the surrounding geography. Burrell is a native of the Upstate and grew up in New York State's Upstate, discovered a love of cooking. She pursued her passion for food and restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English as well as Communication at Canisius College, Buffalo NY. I enjoyed every moment that I was a student in The Culinary Institute of America she says. It was hard to study and do enough or put in the hours. Following graduation, Burrell spent one year in Italy studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and worked in the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as well as Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. In Italy, she developed a deep appreciation and understanding of Italian cuisine and its culture. This is a huge influence on the way that Burrell prepares her food. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation and was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps kids who have challenges. She travels frequently around the nation in her capacity as both a mentor and guest speaker where she discusses her professional life and the joy of cooking. Anne always felt fortunate that she could share the passion of her life, and her passion for cooking, with people around the world.
